#1. My Competitors...

What I gathered from researching the boundless sea of blogs is that reading blogs is very similar to having conversations with people (if the conversations comprised of only one person talking for hours.)

Imagine going to a mall and attempting to have a conversation with every single person you ran into: pedestrians, people you see in line, employees, custodians.  It would be exhausting! Filtering through blogs is much the same: you end up learning the credentials of a person but never building a rapport. Every once in a while, an awesome blog, full of character and interesting ideas, pops up on your screen and after realizing it's uniqueness, the conversation has to end in order to meet more Mr. and Mrs. Smiths.

Someone is following me...

And I'm scared. If someone is following you-on blogger-and they choose to remain anonymous, does that make him or her, instead, a "stalker?" In movies, when a person says, "I think a car is following me," it is usually said immediately after he/she looked in the rear-view mirror to clearly see a car... following. However, NEVER has someone said, "I think a lion is stalking me."  Why?  Because when a person finally realizes that they have been stalked by a lion, they're being eaten!

Your honor, I rest my case.

EDIT:

Your move, Blogger...

Why we can't talk to people...

(credit to Marko Slavnic, the creator of this video, and to The Awesomer, the website where I found this video)

I really love the movie Yes Man; that's the movie starring Jim Carrey, who plays a character who thinks that he must say 'yes' to every opportunity.  The concept is like a twelve-step program for 'no' addicts.  While I think throwing a rock through the window of a bank is a horribly bad idea-unless your goal is to go to jail-allowing ourselves to be open to life's opportunities is a good message to take away from that movie.

Seconds isn't quite the same as Yes Man, however both have a similar theme;  Saying yes to life is full of all kinds of fun like traveling, and taking pictures of candles, and jumping into the ocean.  On the other hand, saying no only brings loneliness.  Nobody wants loneliness.

Who I am...

I don't think that it's possible for anyone to encapsulate themselves into a single blog; much less a single post. Honestly, after 24 years, I'm not sure I even know yet.

I suppose that I'll begin by saying my name is Kyle, and I am a Realtor. There's nothing special about my job, but it does pay the bills and it gives me a fully-flexible schedule. I do, however, love teaching. I'm a volunteer instructor at a local high school's marching program, assisting with their visual program. In a nut shell, I fix drill formations, marching technique and other body movement (such as ballet routines).
