Upon watching this video, I frankly did not understand why it was titled "Human DYSTOPIA." I'm pretty certain that the person who uploaded the video did not either a. know how to spell utopia, or b. understand what the word dystopia means.
This video shows the most idyllic prediction of the future, and it's simply wonderful! The meaning of life is efficiency, and what is more efficient than having everything in life be automated by robots? Computers are quite obviously more intelligent than humans, and it's about time that a movie accurately depicted the natural hierarchy.
With the nation's rise in obesity, it is becoming more apparent that strenuous activity such as walking is dangerous, and the sooner that hover chairs can be invented to cater to the majority of American citizens, the better. Also, implementing technologies like Skype into the hover chairs is a novel idea. Communicating with other people face-to-face is tiresome as well as unnecessary. I'm a very busy guy, so taking an hour or, God forbid, more to see someone in person is a huge hassle... though I think I could spare a few minutes on Skype if it was absolutely imperative.
Consuming our meals in liquid form is another great idea that the above-video presented. Granted, studies show that it is a bad idea to get our calories and nutrition in liquid form, I don't think people understand the amount of calories burned by chewing our food. Why, if you're trying to meet your caloric intake for the day, would you want to expend calories while consuming them? It's like driving to a gas station... it doesn't make sense. The human characters in the video were smart by not swimming. As an Arizona resident, I recognize the immense danger of drowning while swimming. However, one problem that I did spot was that the pool was not fenced in. A fence ought to have been erected to discourage potential swimmers.
In our current society, it's no wonder that programs like Living Social and other activity programs are becoming decreasingly popular: We're smartening up! Schools are gravitating towards online-classrooms, which is a good step, but I don't feel we're going far enough. We need to bull-doze the school buildings and build server rooms so that we may make the full transition. With the increase in communicable diseases, depletion of the ozone layer, public shootings and traffic accidents, the only possible recourse is to encourage everyone to stay inside of their home.
The bright future as seen in the video is on it's way, and we as humans need to do everything we can to expedite the process. For any of my friends reading this blog, if you need to contact me, you can send me an email and I may return it if the matter is of vital importance (don't call... I won't answer).
Oh the thought of liquid dinner just makes me hungrier. Wait, uh, I mean sounds gross. Liquid liver and spinach, Yummy! Ah who am I kidding, if you put it in front of me I will eat it. But I am not going to subscribe to hover chairs or staying indoors for my own safety. That stuff is for the birds. Good piece on Dystopia.
ReplyDeleteI think hover chairs would be fun for about 10 minutes, and then I would be bored. In all honesty, though, I'm going to be doing a liquid/juicing diet for about a month. I seen it on the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead," and I was sold. BUT, I definitely don't think liquid meals would be good... especially liver... *shudders*
DeleteI saw that too and thought about doing it. But then there was that part when he wanted to go back to solids and bit the apple....yeahh sad panda...
DeleteLiquified liver isn't too bad... as long as its cooked/seasoned first, you're in the clear. When I make haggis, I puree the liver onions and garlic together, before adding it to the oats.
ReplyDeleteLiquified spinach is a health drink, add it with carrots and peaches and you wont know its there.
You'd be surprised how well some foods taste liquified. Pizza for example :)
It is clear by the responses and following you are creating with your posts that you are doing something right. Keep it up!
